Cara

Dr. Cara Ogren

Practice Director, PT, DPT

Cara is an Ashtabula County native who gained extensive experience in orthopaedic physical therapy during her travels across the country. After graduating cum laude from Daemen College in 2000, her career path provided her with the opportunity to work with the field’s top physical therapists in urban hospital settings as well as gain management experience from some of the nation’s largest rehabilitation clinics. After relocating back to Ohio in 2007, she finished her clinical doctorate degree at Daemen. Synergy’s doors opened in Ashtabula on August 4th, 2008 and has been enjoying steady growth since opening day. Dr. Ogren remains active with the American Physical Therapy Association to promote patient advocacy and the advancement of evidence based practice in privately owned physical therapy clinics.

Dr. Kylie Sramek

PT, DPT, Willoughby Hills Clinical Coordinator

Kylie is a Physical Therapist at Synergy had been with us since September 2017. She received her undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace, where she double majored in Pre-Physical Therapy and Exercise Physiology. Kylie received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA where she graduated President of her class. Kylie loves to spend time volunteering for the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America where she participates in fund raising and taking part in the Annual Walk for MG. Kylie enjoys participating in multiple golf and bowling leagues in her free time.

Dr. Katelyn Powers

PT, DPT, Ashtabula Clinical Coordinator

Katie is a Physical Therapist who received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, graduating top of her class in 2014. Since graduation, Katie has gained valuable work experience across multiple settings including Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities and Home Health. Katie is an Ashtabula County native and has since returned to the area, joining the Synergy family in September of 2021. She is excited to work alongside a great team to provide high quality, one-on-one patient care to enhance the quality of life of our patients. Katie enjoys her family cottage on Lake Erie, boating, golfing, and spending time with her family including her husband, Taylor, and two children, Kora and Graham. 

Colleen

Colleen Gerbic

PTA, Berea Clinical Coordinator

Colleen graduated from South University in the fall of 2015, and joined the Berea facility staff  in early 2016.  Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked as a therapy aide for a community hospital, an experience that she feels helped to encourage her to remain on the physical therapy track.  Colleen is proud to serve as a PTA, and believes that she learns something valuable from every patient she treats. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Cleveland State University.  She feels that becoming part of the Synergy family has afforded her the ability to provide patients with exceptional care due to the emphasis on one-on-one care, and has increased her knowledge in alternative medicine due to the clinic’s holistic approach.   In her free time, she enjoys yoga, reading, playing piano, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Marcus and Jocelyn, and lively little mix breed, Lucas, who is the therapy dog at Synergy!  She also enjoys giving time to Berea Animal Rescue Friends, assisting with fundraising events.

Enna Yevtukh

PTA

Enna is a graduate from The Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage located in Berea where she received her license in Massage Therapy in 2018. In 2021, she decided to go back to school to pursue her Physical Therapist license to be able to improve the quality of life for her patients, prevent or ease the effects of chronic conditions, regain their physical function and truly make a difference in their everyday life. She started off as a student at the Berea location and is now excited to continue her career at Synergy as of August 2023 as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Courtney Hunt

PTA

Courtney graduated from Mercyhurst University in the fall of 2020, and joined the Ashtabula facility staff in early 2023.  Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked as a Stretch therapist, an experience that she feels helped to inspire her to go down the physical therapy track. Courtney has previous experience working in physical therapy from specialized outpatient orthopedic and neurologic clinics from her time working in Erie, PA. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, playing disc golf, taking part in medieval reenactment, and spending time with her husband (Nick) and cat, Jordi. She and her husband have recently relocated to Conneaut, OH where they hope to have found their forever home. Courtney is very excited to be a part of the Synergy staff and provide exceptional high quality care to her patients and aid them in their physical therapy journey.

Lindsey Mausser

Lead Office Coordinator, Willoughby Hills

Lindsey Mausser, from Willowick, Ohio, is our lead Office Coordinator, and works in our  Willoughby Hills office while enrolled in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at CSU. She received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Fitness from PennWest Clarion in May 2023.

“In my spare time, I enjoy reading and being outside camping with my family. I enjoy working side by side with the Synergy PTs and PTAs because they have inspired me and increased my knowledge as a future physical therapist.”

Kirstin Aslanides

Office Coordinator, Berea

Kirstin Aslanides, from Louisville, Ohio, will greet you at the Berea office. Kira is a double major of Pre- Allied Health and Exercise Science at Baldwin Wallace University.

Kira Mucci

Office Coordinator, Ashtabula

Kira Mucci, from Conneaut, will welcome you at the Ashtabula office. Kira is enrolled in the physical therapist assistant technology program at Kent State Ashtabula and will graduate in 2025.

Dr. Liz Amaya

Physical Therapist

Liz is a Southern California native. She is a graduate from the University of Miami, FL. where she received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology followed by her Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology with a specialization in Strength and Conditioning. She was a high school strength and conditioning coach for a decade where she served the students, athletes, and adult community to reach their athletic and personal fitness goals before deciding to advance her career. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2023. Liz volunteers her time with the Esperanza College Mentorship Program where she serves as a mentor for new Latino college students in the Cleveland area. She also volunteers with the athletes at Cleveland State University working with orthopedic injuries. During her free time, Liz enjoys running, strength training, hiking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her long time boyfriend Curt, and their two rescue dogs, Roxie and Roo.

Erika Shoop

Physical Therapist Assistant

Erika earned her Associates Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from Cuyahoga Community College in May of 2024. During her time at Tri-C, she was able to serve as a Co-Representative for the Physical Therapy Program, as well as volunteer at various middle and high school outreach events promoting STEM careers. Additionally, Erika worked as a physical therapy aide for five years before beginning her collegiate education. Her passion for physical therapy stems from a deep-seated desire to improve the quality of life for individuals through personalized and effective therapeutic interventions. She has had the privilege of working in both inpatient and outpatient settings since her graduation – these diverse experiences have equipped her with a broad skill set and understanding of different patient needs and conditions. In addition to helping individuals through physical therapy, Erika is also the Co-Founder of a local 501c3 nonprofit called The Cardinal Crew, with a mission of supporting individuals and families affected by the addiction epidemic. In her free time, Erika enjoys spending time outside with her two huskies, caring for her horses, backpacking, biking, paddleboarding, and lifting weights.

Teresa Roth

Physical Therapist

Teresa just recently graduated from Tri-C’s PTA program in 2024, where she was a Co-Representative for her Cohort, Co-Founder of Tri-C’s PTA club, and proudly volunteered at many Middle School Outreach Enrichment Programs to advocate for physical therapy to young teens. She has a certification in LSVT Big that assists patients with Parkinson’s Disease. Teresa is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, a 2021 Hocking College graduate, working for two years with specialties in Trigger Point Release, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Prenatal Massage, and Myofascial Release Techniques. She loves to spend her free time being active outside: hiking, paddleboarding, water skiing, and biking: or relaxing with a book. She shares her love of physical therapy with her fiance, Louis, whom she met in the PTA program! Teresa was a student therapist at Synergy’s Berea location and grew a love for the creative, supportive, and enriching environment. She is excited to grow in skills and patient care!

Therapy Dog

Lucas is Colleen’s lively beagle mix, that  joined the Synergy family as the in-clinic therapy dog in Berea.  Lucas is a rescue, and has come out of his shell significantly since he was adopted in 2017.  He loves his job and can’t wait to make the patients smile everyday.  When he isn’t sharing affection and getting ear scratches at work, he loves going for walks, playing with his toys, and chasing bunnies in the back yard.
